Run Toward Your Fear...

General George Patton said, "Fear kills more people than death." Death kills us but once, and we usually don't even know it. But fear kills us over and over again, subtly at times and brutally at others. But if we keep trying to avoid our fears, they will chase us down like persistent dogs. The worst thing we can do is close our eyes and pretend they don't exist. - quoted from "100 Ways to Motivate Yourself" by Steve Chandler.

Indeed, this is so true to me. In everyday life we always encounter our fear. When we want to try something new, we fear of failure. When we want to propose a new business plan, we fear of rejection. When we want to do something different, we fear of criticism. And there are times where we just keep quite when we meet new people, just because we fear of grammar error! heh... it happens to me before.

So, how do we deal with fear? RUN TOWARD IT~! Yep, you've got it right. Run toward your fear. The more you fear it, the more you have to run toward it. Do it! Get it done! Blurt it out! Sell it! Do what ever you want to do (as long as it does not hurt anyone or anything including you)! and see what happens. Most of the time, the result is uplifting. It'll open yourself to experience things you had never experience before. The more fear you face (manly), the greater you'll become.

The Six Mistakes of Men...

As-Salam & Salam 1 Malaysia...

A lot of philosophies told. They are passed through generations. Some touches some hearts. Some are just amusing...

I'd love to share a philosophy of which I've been holding on for 5 years until today. They are told by one of the ancient Roman's greatest philosopher known as Marcus Tullius Cicero. And after 20 centuries of his time, I repeat them here for us to share among us.

6 mistakes of men…

  1. The illusion that personal gain is made by crushing others.
  2. The tendency to worry about things that cannot be changed or corrected.
  3. Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it.
  4. Refusing to set aside trivial preferences.
  5. Neglecting development and refinement of the mind, and not acquiring the habit of reading and studying.
  6. Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do.

Of all the six mistakes of men pointed above, there is one that i really love and holding on strongly in particular. It is the mistakes no. 2 from the list: The tendency to worry about things that cannot be changed or corrected.

A teacher of one of today's author, Wayne Dyer (Wisdom of the Ages) put it in a simpler way:

"It makes no sense to worry about the things you have no control over, because if you have no control over them that makes no sense to worry about them. And it makes no sense to worry about the things you do have control over, because if you have control over, it makes no sense to worry about it. And there goes everything that is possible to worry about. Whether you have control or you don’t, either way, worry is a huge mistake..."

Well, to put it even simpler, "Don't Worry... Be Happy..."

Pass it on to our children... Will ya?
